The article “Turkish Barbarities” is reproduced from the “Collected Writings” of H. P. Blavatsky.[1] The founder of modern esoteric movement describes and discusses in the text the level of cruelty performed by followers of the so-called “radical Islam”. H.P.B. did admire aspects of the Sufi tradition – the mystic side of Islam – and had respect for Islamic philosophy. As to religious violence and intolerance, however, she wrote in her book “The Secret Doctrine”:
